I am not a Feminist

A woman with confidence raising like a sun.

Yes, I am not a Feminist!

But I would like to applaud each and every woman in this universe who went through the feelings I am feeling right now in both best and worse ways!

Both men and women work hard. But this world is never the same. It’s different in many ways.

This is a comparison not to point out that women are higher than men. But to prove, they are not treated in the same way as men.

Let’s consider a working woman and a working man in day-to-day life.

  • There is no woman left asking her marital status during an interview process. Comparatively not all men are asked about their personal details to a certain extent.
  • When she wears a kurti/non-western dress on her first day to work, she is labeled as either traditional, introvert or from the countryside. Formal or informal, men are treated with the same respect (in most of the case).
  • If a woman wears no makeup to work, she is being forced to feel inferior in one way or the other. Men escape from this specific case as the world didn’t make comments for men without makeup.
  • If she talks less, she is of less knowledge. If he does, he is marked focused. If she talks more, it might lead to some mysteric problems. If he talks much, he is of vast knowledge.
  • If there comes an abroad opportunity in a team, the percentage of offers to women and men are never the same.

And so on…!

Despite all these differences, there are still some people who understand and treat women equally.

World is now revolving. At some places, changes are happening. At some places, changes are forced with no choice to treat women with due respect.

Salute those role models who are not underestimating the power and ability of women. In my world, my husband, my brother and as always my mother. They are the strong pillars for my dream palace.

  • When I wished to work distant from my home, they encouraged me to explore the world.
  • When I dreamt of writing my own poetry book, they made it happen in my reality.
  • When I felt low about myself, they believed in my ability and made me cross multiple paths with thorns to attain my goal.

And I am extremely grateful for my colleagues, who treat me equally in all aspects till date.

My piece of thought and advise to all women is:

  • Never lower your head until you make any mistake no matter what others think.
  • Feel proud of yourself for overcoming struggles you face each day.
  • Respect your heart and love yourself.
  • Focus on your personal health and growth. You have your own life. And it’s meant to be lived and not to just sacrifice for all others than yourself.
  • Atlast, keep learning and reading to keep you updated.

Proud to be a woman as always!
